The Hague Circle – International Council for Steiner Waldorf Education advises on the basis of a differentiated perception about the essential criteria of Waldorf education and about its design in very different geographical, cultural, economic and political regions of the world.
The international organisation of 48 teachers from 33 countries and six continents wants to support, keep alive and promote the quality of teaching in Waldorf schools and kindergartens.
Mission statement of the «Hague Circle»:
- The Hague Circle - International Council for Steiner Waldorf Education supports, promotes and ensures the quality of Waldorf education in its educational practice, in the social form of the institutions and in its social relevance.
- The Hague Circle takes up current educational and social challenges and opportunities and incorporates them into the requirements that apply to Waldorf kindergartens and Waldorf schools worldwide.
- The Hague Circle ensures mutual awareness and cooperation between Waldorf educational institutions.
- The Hague Circle draws up the essential characteristics for Waldorf education and represents the Waldorf movement worldwide.
- The Hague Circle is responsible for the recognition of educational institutions (from early childhood care to tertiary education) as a prerequisite for the award of the licence to be called a Waldorf or Rudolf Steiner institution.
