João Maria André
João Maria André is professor emeritus at the Faculty of Literature of the Portuguese University of Coimbra and has taught in the fields of philosophy, theatre and culture.
He is a director and author of poems, theatre plays and philosophical essays, in which he nourishes his art and knowledge by listening to the world. He has also written numerous books on philosophy, mysticism, intercultural dialogue, theatre and affectivity. His works include: «O diálogo intercultural nas ideias, na política, nas artes e na religião» («Intercultural dialogue in ideas, politics, art and religion»), 2012; «Jogo, corpo e teatro: a arte de fazer amor com o tempo» («Play, body and theatre: The art of loving time»), 2016 and «Doze proposições sobre Livros, Leitura e Hospitalidade, com desenhos de Pedro Pousada» («Twelve theses on books, reading and hospitality, with drawings by Pedro Pousada»), 2021.
It is important to André to keep learning. Because he is convinced that if you stop learning, you die.
