1. Further development of the admission process (DE)
The objective of our workshop is to work out in concrete terms an admission sheet which can best reflect the release of the etheric forces for school learning. In what do we as physicians see this developmental step, in what do we see it as teachers? How do we differentiate between the absence of maturity in this sense on the one hand, and limitations and disorders in the child's development on the other? To work on this question, we will use as a basis both current results of studies and our experiences with regard to the long-term progression of individual pupils in our schools.
Renate Karutz, Martina F. Schmidt
2. Why does colour perspective support learning to read? Stages of writing, reading and grammar as the interplay of mental and physical processes (DE/EN)
We aim to work together on the interaction in the lesson of a warm interest, practical activity and reflection through intuitive perception. Exercises, observations and discussion will alternate. Lesson and pupil examples are welcome.
Marion Dürr, Claus-Peter Röh
3. Dealing with giftedness (DE/EN)
Gifted pupils are not always self-motivating and frequently require our support. They want to be recognised, understood and challenged. Psychosomatic symptoms, behavioural syndromes, social problems including truancy can be an expression of their suffering. How can we identify giftedness also without IQ tests? What support do these pupils and their parents need? What opportunities does Waldorf education offer?
4. Foundations of working as a kindergarten and school physician. (EN/FR)
This workshop will consider the foundations of working as a school physician (the everyday work of a school physician). Questions from beginners and non-beginners will be taken up and answered on the basis of 30 years’ experience working as a full-time staff school physician. Comprehensive material on the various topics associated with working as a school physician will be provided and the workshop will try to convey the joy and pleasure in this field of activity.
5. Medical and educational observations on age 9 to 12 (DE/EN)
What physiological development takes place from age 9 to 12? What typical hurdles arise and what new phenomena have we noticed in recent years? Critical developments, disease trends as well as physiological processes and the curricular physiology of this age are introduced and discussed. You are welcome to bring along reports about pupils or send them in advance to make the work more productive. Karin Michael 6. Media fasting and Waldorf education. The influence of digital screen-based media on childhood (DE/EN) We will concern ourselves with the altered spatial dynamic in people with disorders of the incarnation impulse and dissociation of the human constitutional elements; we will work on the inner and outer attitude of the therapist. Practical exercises and discussion.
Silke Schwarz, Angelika Wiehl, David Martin
7. Educating boys and girls (DE/EN)
Do girls need a different kind of education from boys? What course does the psychological and physical maturation of the children take and how does sexuality and gender develop during childhood and adolescence. How important is bisexuality? This leads to questions we aim to discuss such as e.g. gender issues, growing up with same-sex parents, bullying, the way power is exercised and molestation between children and sexual abuse.
Claudia McKeen, Bettina Lohn
8. How can mathematics in the most comprehensive sense accompany the child on the way to becoming a human being on earth and help them to grasp their tasks on earth? (DE/EN)
Bring your questions along to this workshop. Alongside practical artistic support exercises, we will also work on aspects deepening this topic.
Florian Osswald, Susanne Allgaier
9. The heart and the inner path (ES/DE)
Workshop on the inner path of the school physician. At the same time the topic is the last part of the Spanish school physician training. A number of colleagues from Spain and South America will therefore attend the conference. A special opportunity to encounter one another in the work on this important topic!
Miguel Belchior de Graca
10. Physical development from birth to age 7 as the foundation for learning. (DE/EN)/NL)
The physical development of the child forms the foundation for the learning processes in the second seven years. That foundation is frequently not sufficiently given today as a result of a variety of circumstances, leading to learning difficulties. What can class teachers and learning support teachers do to support the children in this respect? Workshop with theory, educational exercises for the senses, movement, painting and drawing.
Joep Eikenboom, Erica Eikenboom-van Nierop
11. Maturation of the body and soul from birth to age 21 (DE/EN)
The births of the human constitutional elements are often described as milestones of the septenniums. The goal of this workshop is to set out clearly the dynamic of the human constitutional elements between the septenniums; that is, the continual process of daily, weekly, monthly and yearly metamorphosis of these body-forming forces into the forces acting in the soul and spirit. The understanding of this concrete developmental dynamic "from year to year" is a big help for intuitively dealing with the content of the curriculum and the therapeutic measures with which we can support the maturation process of the children and adolescents.
